Summary of Position:  The position is responsible for directing the overall financial and administrative policies for a private non-profit corporation delivering a wide range of programs and services for homeless men and women. The position oversees all financial functions including; accounting, budget, payroll, purchasing, 3rd party billing and reimbursement, credit, investments, insurance, tax, contract compliance and banking relationships.  Additional responsibilities include oversight of all information systems. The Director of Finance is also expected to design and coordinate a wide variety of financial, accounting and statistical reports as required by the Executive Director and Board of Directors.  The position shares responsibility for employee benefits administration.

 


Essential Functions Include But Are Not Limited To:

·         Responsible for the control and maintenance of all financial transactions and accounting records in compliance with general accounting standards and applicable governmental regulations.

·         Responsible for the fiscal management of all contracts, including overseeing the recognition of allowable expenditures and accounting for contracts; ensures compliance with financial requirements; prepares annual pre-qualification filing for the state and assists with negotiation as required.

·         Coordinates the annual external audit of the corporation, including the preparation of the Uniform Financial Report, Form 990, Form PC and Annual Report.

·         Works closely with the Executive Director, Treasurer, and other Board members to ensure the financial health of the organization.

·         Performs financial analysis as required by the Executive Director and Board of Directors.

·         Responsible for completing the annual operating and capital budgets for the organization.

·         Manages the bidding process and general purchasing order system.

·         Maintain external relationships as required, specifically regarding insurance risk management and banking relationships.

·         Provides supervision for information technology, operations, accounting, and billing staff.

·         Co-manages organizational benefit programs with the Director of Human Resources.

·         Senior member of hopeFound management team.

·         Attends internal and external meetings and conferences as required;

 

Qualifications:

 

Required: Undergraduate degree and 4-6 years of financial management experience in a multi-million dollar corporation; prior senior management, 3rd party billing, government contract and accrual accounting experience.

 

Preferred: MBA or Certified Public Accountant and 6-10 years of financial management and non-profit and ARPlus experience.
