CLINICAL MANAGER OF HOUSING PROGRAMS

Summary of Role:  Has primary responsibility to provide for the clinical supervision, direction and training of multi programmatic housing support counseling staff. Responsible for the design and delivery of client services which assist clients in achieving self-sufficiency and maintaining appropriate housing. Assist in the development of community-based clinical services for newly housed, formerly homeless men and women with substance abuse and mental/medical illness. Provide leadership to staff in crisis situations. Establishes and monitors systems for service delivery, evaluation of quality and effectiveness, and achievement of client and program outcomes.  Assists the director in the development and completion of outcome, annual and other mandated reports.  Develops and maintains positive external relationships which contribute to program growth and sustainability.

 

Qualifications:

Required:

§         Advanced degree in social work, psychology, counseling or related field.

§         Three to 5 years of clinical supervisory experience.

§         Substantial experience in program planning, development, management, and staff training. 

§         At least 5 years experience in substance abuse, mental health and co-occurring disorders, trauma and homeless-related issues.

§         Experience in community-based housing programs

§         Ability to represent agency and programs at external/internal meetings.

§         Knowledge of issues related to homelessness, including substance abuse, domestic/partner violence, and mental health.

§         Previous experience working in multi-cultural environments and collaboration with community-based and other external organizations.

Preferred:

  • Knowledge of Boston area homeless resources
  • Bicultural/bilingual

  • High degree of organizational ability and good analytical skills
  • Ability to build and support an effective clinical team.
  • Ability to communicate professionally both verbally and in writing, including the ability to successfully represent hopeFound in various forums.
  • Strong interpersonal, conflict resolution and crisis management skills
  • Ability to prioritize and manage different roles and tasks, with attention to deadlines
  • Ability to take initiative, plan and work independently
  • Ability to effectively provide administrative and clinical supervision to culturally, racially and gender diverse work team
  • Effective team builder and leader
  • Computer skills sufficient for data gathering, documentation and reporting
  • Ability to multitask and demonstrate flexibility as necessary.
  • Physical ability to utilize computers and telephones

 

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Hire, train and provide administrative and clinical supervision to counseling staff, including written evaluations and progressive discipline when necessary.
  • Assess client needs and evaluate current systems of service delivery and establish new programs and systems as needed to ensure the quality and effectiveness of client services.
  • Develop program outcomes and measurement processes and tools; collect monthly program statistics and outcomes measurement using databases
  • Ensure that programs meet goals and outcomes
  • Oversight of daily operations for multiple programs
  • Responsible for completion of grant renewal applications and required reports; contribute to new grant writing efforts
  • Develop, maintain and build relationships with external organizations, governmental agencies and funding entities.
  • Participates in on-call clinical coverage rotation
  • Participates in interagency managerial, task force and other meetings as needed.(moved from summary)
  • Must have access to a vehicle, a valid Mass. driver’s license, and the ability to travel to scattered sites related to the housing programs.

 

BILINGUAL/BICULTURAL ENGLISH/SPANISH PREFERRED

 

 

Salary Range:  $50,000-54,000 plus benefits, commensurate with qualifications
